Who are we?

Teach East has a team of dedicated professionals with a wealth of experience in Peterborough Schools. Their knowledge and expertise in education support our trainees to achieve the best possible outcomes. Each member of our team still works in a classroom on a regular basis and so are perfectly positioned to offer advice to trainees.  We also have a strong pastoral team who understand the stresses and strains of the training year and are there to offer guidance and reassurance throughout the year.

Henry Sauntson - SCITT Director

Henry is an experienced Senior Leader and has worked in Peterborough and the surrounding area since qualifying as an English teacher in 2008. Henry is a Fellow of the Chartered College of Teaching and CollectiveEd, and contributes material to a range of publications including TES and Impact; he is also involved in facilitating the development of teachers of all levels of experience, from ITE through to NPQSL courses and the new Early Career Framework. In his work as an SLE he has supported a number of local schools and helped organize and deliver a range of CPD opportunities.

Henry is a Fellow of The Chartered College of Teaching and of the CollectiveEd Group, and has recently written a book supporting Early Career Teachers in their understanding of Curriculum Intent and Implementation.

Henry has a keen interest in evidence-informed approaches to education and teacher development, and believes that all teachers continue to improve throughout their career; collaboration and dialogue are key to shared success.
